Whoever reads one letter of the Book of Allah is credited with one blessing and one blessing is equal to tenfold the like thereof in its reward. I do not say that.-Tirmidhi
Qaida literally means ‘base’.
The Qaida is to develop the Makharij or Arabic pronunciation, which is the foundation of Hifz and Tilawaah.
This is the first course that a student goes through before they can start reading the Qur’an. The course is designed to teach the Arabic letters, their pronunciation, Makharij and how to join them together properly.
The Qaida course also covers the basic rules of tajweed without going into the details of the theory of tajweed. An Ijazah level teacher ensures the best possible start and oversees the Qaida learning process before student’s progress to the Nazirah Course.
The Academy assesses all students upon entry in regards to their competencies in Arabic pronunciation and ensures that students receive a strong foundation in reading the Qur’an with the correct Makharij.
The Academy adopts the Baghdadi Kayda, which typically takes a student around four to six months to complete.
