Fundraising to send surgeons to Gaza and for a new roof for the Bahu Centre
Assalamu Alaykum dear parents,
I pray this message finds you in the best of health and Imaan Insha’Allah.
We have started giving out money collection boxes to all students to help us fundraise for a new roof for the Bahu Centre, a former church building. This building is the heart of Quranic teaching and learning for hundreds of students, open 7 days a week, and is where the journey of Quranic learning begins for every child in the BQA.
The BQA is dedicated and passionate about instilling the Qur’an into the hearts of our children. It is a place that produces, on average, one Hafiz of the Qur’an every month, and where both girls and boys are encouraged equally.
Our roof is over 130 years old, and the tiles are falling off. I’m appealing to all students and parents to help us raise £35,000 so we can continue using this building.
I pray everyone will support this endeavour so we can continue to serve your children even more. We are planning a beautiful, Qur’an-inspired summer filled with animal encounters, park outings, and sports events as part of our educational programme based at the Bahu Centre. Please help us put a new roof over the heads of the Ahlul Qur’an.
While fundraising, we also remember our children in Gaza. Our masjid charity, Islamic Help, is sending its sixth medical deployment of doctors and surgeons to Gaza. Full details are on their website. Their next team travels in July, and we are also fundraising for this cause, insha’Allah.
Half of the money raised from the collection boxes will go towards the medical deployment, and the other half towards our roof, insha’Allah.
We are also working to register the Bahu Centre as an animal exhibition venue as part of a unique initiative to connect nature with the Qur’an, creating beautiful and lasting memories for our children.
Please help make the BQA the best madrassa it can be by supporting us with your kind donations and duas. Be a part of a project that nurtures the next generation to be strongly rooted in the Qur’an.
All collection boxes should be returned by the end of July, insha’Allah.
